Nai Disha belives in Theatre in education.

On a regular basis theatre workshops, plays, activities are conducted.

This builds confidence, improves language skills, opens up creative channels, stimulates latent talent and prepares the students for challenges.

Recently 15 students were selected to attend NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA'S SUMMER WORKSHOP. It was an enthralling experience to see their keen participation. The parents were proud and involved too.

Many students went to watch Head and tale, NSD'S PLAY and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Nai Disha conducts theatre workshops for teachers also.

Over the years Nai disha has presented the following plays:

  • MIRA- 2008
  • RAMANYA- 2006
  • KAUN BANEGA RAJA- 2006
  • ANDHERI NAGRI CHAUPAT RAJA- 2007

MIRA- MANN...ICHHA...RISHTA...ABHYAS

MIRA was the major outdoor play to be staged in IHC Amphitheatre on 22 November 2008. Mira is written and directed by Walter Peter. Forty Five students of Nai Disha took part on it.

Mr. Abdul Latif, Director of TIE (Theatre in Education) of NSD, Admiral Malhotra and Mr. R.P. Singh, Ex- CMD, Power Grid Corporation, were the Guest of Honour. Invitation cards and posters were designed and sponsored by Shikha Sabharwal of Srishti. The Heritage School provided buses for transportation.

Mira was a huge success not only for those who watched the play but for all the students as well.

Other productions- ramanya , Kaun banega raja and andheri nagri chaupat raja left the children with a new found confidence and a sense of achievement.

In the future we plan on presenting more plays. Also our students would attend the NSD'S Sunday Club every week till Jan 2010.
